Permanent make-up also known as mircropigmentation, intradermal pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing. This procedure can be done many different ways: manual, coil machine (traditional tattoo machine) pens (the method I prefer) and digital. One way is no better than the other. The technician you choose is usually more comfortable with the type of machine they trained on.
Permanent cosmetics last many years, the color may need to be touched-up in 5-7 years. Every individual is different, some hold the color better than others. The sun, tanning beds and medical grade peels will fade the color. Each procedure takes about 1.5-2 hours. It generally takes 30-40 minutes for the topical numbing agent to take affect and 40-60 minutes for the actual tattooing. Healing time is 4-6 weeks, the color is darker for the first 5 days, in 6 weeks the color will stabilize and fade a little. A touch-up procedure will be done in 4-6 weeks.
